Scotts manual push lawn mower has a 14" cutting width. The 5-blade reel mower has heat-treated alloy steel blades and an adjustable cutting height of 1/2"-1.75". The push mower has 8.5" composite wheels for transportation and maneuverability. It is lightweight and has a T-style handle with a cushioned grip for comfort and maneuverability.
A reel mower cuts grass without bruising or damaging the blades. For best results with the Scotts push mower, mow no more than 1/3 of the grass blade to encourage deeper roots. Increase overlap when mowing if the lawn reaches a height of 4 inches or more. Avoid using the reel mower on wet grass as it can result in an uneven cut.
Maintenance for the push mower is important. Mowing smaller amounts frequently is better than letting the grass get too long. The push mower only cuts what comes between the reel and the cutter bar. Keep the lawn height no more than 3-4 inches for a proper cut.
Before using the reel lawn mower, remove any lawn debris first. Reel mowers work best on well-maintained lawns. If the lawn is overgrown with divots and tall weeds, it is recommended to address those before using a reel lawn mower, as it may require multiple passes initially.
